Eerie House hanger 🌙🪾

Hi everyone! I'm excited to be sharing this cute little Halloween hanger today, featuring a house from the Tim Holtz Ghost Town 2 set and texture galore.

I'm always looking for ways to add depth and really separate my layers, so the baseboard frames are just perfect for tucking things behind--like these cool fairy lights! That GLOW 🤩 Honestly, the lights are a bit tricky to incorporate I find, but they really enhance this project, well worth a few extra steps! ✨

(Reminder!… click on a photo to enlarge, if you’re on a tablet or PC, you can swipe through just photos, no text 👀)

Let me take you through how I created some individual elements and the assembly!

The Base…

Started with a mini clipboard base (sans clip, obvs), added some texture-embossed papers (used Tim's Dotted folder), and trimmed the edges

Next, added chunky grit paste to the edges and front, painted with Lost Shadow, and punched holes in the paper over the existing clipboard holes

Rubbed black soot over the texture, set two eyelets with my crop-o-dile tool, and added hinge clips/chains for my hanger

The Crackly Frame

Started by painting my baseboard frame with lost shadow, then added a thick coat of rock candy clear crackle over the top

Positioning my clipping stickers, crackle is dry before I added the black crayon

Brushed on the black soot crayon with a distress brush, then wiped back with a damp cloth

Added some mounting dots and taped on fairy lights to the backside

The House

Cut a few layers of the house from the Ghost Town 2 set and made a few of my own adjustments

Painted with black soot

Rough cut a piece of clear acetate and inked with Latte before gluing to the back side

Added a coat a rock candy clear crackle, brushed on white distress crayon

Assembly + Finishing Touches

Tried to capture all the elements used
(sometimes things get sneaky thrown in last minute)

And the final pictures one more time...

Okayyy, that's a wrap! I hope you liked my project, it sure was a fun one to make, thanks so much for visiting!

Happy crafting!
xx Erin
